Just a heads up—
I won’t be around here and on my social media sites over the next few days. I’m having neck surgery tomorrow and I won’t have access to a computer while I’m in the hospital.
As long as there are no complications…fingers crossed that there aren’t…then I’ll be back next week when I get home and am feeling a little bit better.
One of the main reasons for the surgery is so I can feel better, but I am hoping that it’ll help with some of the other symptoms that my bad neck is causing. My doctor says that it could take up to a year until I can notice a difference.
As long as the pain is gone after the surgery, I think I can live with the other symptoms.
-rid my raspy voice (which will get worse for a little bit after surgery before it gets better)
-hoping for better mobility of my neck
-be able to enjoy an amusement park again
-walk without the slight drag of my left foot/leg
-get my nice, neat handwriting back
-say goodbye to my twitching left eye
Of course I am going to be a worry-wart and worry about my kiddos while I am away. The girls are already worried about me. Emily was crying at bed time tonight. I held it together for her—barely. The girls are concerned that I am getting a donor bone that’ll be placed in my neck. They think it is gross that a dead person’s bone will be in my body. Well, when you put it that way…
Unfortunately it is necessary with this surgery.
Thank you to the donor and their family who helped make my surgery possible.
Until next week! Take care, everyone!
