Well let me just say that I am no expert in writing, making or keeping New Year’s resolutions. Every year I make a resolution to lose weight…..FAIL. I sat here this morning looking at my calendar and realized that it is already the 27th of December and that my 2009 New Year’s resolution did not happen. Why is it that I can set goals for myself with my business and reach them throughout the year, but I cannot even start to lose weight? Then while sitting here I thought maybe subconsciously I’m sabotaging myself because I called it a resolution and not a goal. Maybe because most of the population will break their resolution a month after setting it and that sticks into the back of my mind and that triggers me to break it too. Whatever the reason is I am taking responsibility for it.
So this year I’ve decided to make it Laura’s Goals for 2010. Let me tell you what some of them are. Obviously to lose weight is one, but I’ve decided to break it down into monthly goals that way I can see if I’m on track each month and not just 20 pounds my May. And since I already have a goal board in my home office I will easily be able to sneak this goal into it as well. “What is a goal board?” some of you might be asking. Well ever since I starting working from home almost 3 years ago, I have a dry erase board in my office where I keep track of my goals; weekly and monthly. I have it in front of me so I am constantly looking at it and it keeps me motivated and on track.
Which brings me to some more goals for 2010. With my business I have goals that I go by everyday; to have open communication and to be the best leader I can be are some. But a new goal of mine is to replace my entire household’s income and to help 5 other people to do the same. I am very excited about this goal because I truly love to help others.
Another goal is to take my family on vacation this summer. I already have a trip to Salt Lake City planned for August, but I was thinking that the girls would love Disney World or going to the beach. I’ve only been to the beach once in my life so I know I would enjoy it.
I know that I can achieve my goals that I have set and I am very excited to do so, but whatever my goals are or aren’t I still intend on making 2010 an amazing year.
